Data Analytics- Apprenticeship (Higher) - Level 4

  • Course Description

    The course is aimed at people who are employed in a suitable industrial setting in a roll such as a trainee Data Analyst collecting, organising and studying data to provide business insights. Subjects will include programming in R and Python, data visualisation and analysis as well as big data concepts and infrastructure such as Hadoop.

  • Entry Requirements

    Suitable level 3 qualifications in scientific, business or computing disciplines. Preferably with CGSE maths and English at grade 4 or above.

    An interview is required. You will be assessed for your potential to achieve the apprenticeship. The assessment will depend upon the range and level of activities you will be undertaking in the workplace.

    You may need to undergo an initial assessment of your English and Maths skills in which you are required to be working at/towards, at least, level 2 Maths and level 2 English.

    At the start of your apprenticeship programme you will need to be employed by a suitable and appropriate employer for at least 30 hours per week. You will also need to have been a resident in the EU for at least 3 years and not be on any other government funded training programme.

    Commitment and motivation are necessary to complete the course.

    DELL EMC: Data Science associate BCS Level 4 Diploma in Data Analysis Concepts Functional skills in maths and English

    How is my course assessed?

    You will build a portfolio of evidence and will be assessed in the workplace using a range of methods, for example written assignments, case study work, reflective accounts and practical observation etc. An Assessor will visit you in the workplace on a regular basis to support you.

    Functional Skills tuition and examinations will take place at college various campuses depending on your location.

Travel and Tourism - Level 3

Charlie studied travel & tourism at the College of West Anglia (CWA) and now works as cabin crew for easyJet. Her ambition is to join the Amy Johnson Flying Initiative, a scheme fully funded by easyJet to encourage more ladies to become pilots.

Charlie said: "I completed 2 years of sixth form but never wanted to study at university and at the time I couldn't find a job within the travel & tourism industry. I decided to join CWA and alongside travel and tourism, completed a cabin crew course. I passed this course and have been interested ever since. I really enjoyed what the college and course had to offer, I loved learning about different countries, cultures and travelling in general. The teachers - Nicola, Stacey and Mary - were incredible; I wouldn’t have got to where I am today without their help. I love working for easyJet and the fact they encourage me to progress my career. I speak fluent Spanish and on a recent flight I translated the pilot’s tannoy announcement from English in to Spanish. He contacted the easyJet main manager in Luton and said how impressed he was with me and that I was a credit to the company, this made me feel amazing."
