Apprenticeships

Level 3 Chef de Partie Standard - Apprenticeship

A chef de partie is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen. This type of chef usually manages a small team of workers, which they must keep organised so that dishes go out on time and the work area remains clean and orderly. However, in smaller kitchens a chef de partie may work independently as the only person in their section. Also known as a station or section chef, the chef de partie reports to the senior chef and has a very important role in any kitchen

Learners will be required to attend our Kings Lynn Campus one day a week to enhance their Knowledge Skills and Behaviours. A Commercial Trainer will also visit you within your workplace every 4-6 weeks, alongside the support from your employer.

  • Entry Requirements

Individual employers will set their own select criteria for their apprenticeship, but previous culinary skills and qualifications would be beneficial, along with experience of a kitchen environment.

Success story

Jack Robins

Professional Cookery - Level 3

Following completion of an apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering at CWA, Jack studied Diploma in Professional Cookery Level 3.

“I went on to study my level 3 diploma as I really liked the modules on the course and it was the best route for me to apply to university. The tutors are helpful and the catering factilites at CWA are very good, with a very large kitchen and a wide range of equipment. The Novus Restaurant enables students to gain real-life work experience as we are involved in preparing, cooking and serving members of the public."

Jack is now studying Hospitality Management at Nottingham Trent University.
