This course is suitable for students wishing to progress to working within the Construction industry.

    The course content includes:

    • Construction skills

    • Preparing for work to include safe working practices

    • Literacy

    • Numeracy

    • Tutorials
  • Entry Requirements

    There are no formal entry requirements, however students are expected to show a positive attitude to learning and the potential to progress.

  • Course Length

    Full-time courses at the college are generally 3-4 days per week (you may be in an extra day if you are resitting English and/or Maths). All students are expected to complete study hours in the Learning Resource Centre and at least 30 hours work experience on top of their college hours.

    * Certain courses may have additional costs to cover trips or DBS checks, and for some courses you will be expected to purchase additional items such as uniform or equipment.

    What qualification will I achieve?

    City & Guilds NPTC Entry Level Certificate in Skills for Working Life (Entry 3) in Craft, Design and Technology (Construction)

    How is my course assessed?

    Assessment is continuous with regular feedback to students. The qualification will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence which will include both practical and theoretical activities. Portfolios will be internally marked by the college and externally moderated
