Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard Level 2

Engineering Operatives are predominantly involved in engineering operations which are key to the success of the Manufacturing and Engineering sector allowing employers to grow their business while developing a work force with the relevant skills and knowledge to enhance the sustain the sector.

The role covers a wide range of common and job specific skills sets that can be transferred across the manufacturing engineering industry sectors during the course of their careers. Dependent on the sector that they are employed in there may be subtle differences in terms of composition and application of the job role specific skills and knowledge they will require, however the core skills and knowledge will be the same regardless of the sector/area they work in.

    EAL Diploma in Engineering Operations (skills)

    EAL Certificate in Engineering Operations (knowledge)

    Level 1 in English and maths (a pre-requisite for entry on to the apprenticeship)

    How is my course assessed?

    The end-point assessment has two distinct components:

    Practical observation to assess the apprentices application of skills within the apprentices place of work or in a suitable environment away from the workplace (e.g. In an approved centre))

    Professional discussion to holistically assess knowledge, skills and behaviourss across the standard and will be informed by reflective portfolio

Bradley O'Cruelly

Motor Vehicle Service and Repair - Level 3

Bradley achieved Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair to a very high standard, prior to starting Level 3.

Bradley said “I’ve been given the opportunity to do work experience along with my tutors as their TSO, helping other students and looking after the workshop as it gives me a diverse view on a different, but vital, area of the motor industry.”
