Health and Social Care
Whilst studying a full-time course at CWA, I was doing work experience at Aspires, which I really enjoyed. I decided I wanted to gain more hands-on experience, rather than reading from a book and approached Aspires about an apprenticeship. I am more of a practical person and wanted to gain my knowledge and experience from doing the job.
A typical working day involves setting up work for the day ahead ensuring that there is a job suitable for everyone’s needs. Working within in the care sector, you find that you may need to provide personal care as well as emotional support for the residents if required.
"I enjoy the workshops at college and meeting others that are studying apprenticeship courses too."
