Mechanical Engineering - Level 4 (HNC)

The HNC day release course is designed to cater for experienced technicians who are in full-time employment and wish to progress to technician engineer status.

  • Course Description

    This course is administered through the faculty of technology and is designed to help students who wish to enter the industry as technician engineers with design, managerial or development responsibilities.

    The HNC is a 2 year, level 4 part-time course. Academic standards are high, and the commitment of staff and students ensures highly motivated and competent graduates, well equipped to succeed in the engineering industry.

  • Entry Requirements

    You will need:

    • A grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths

    • A National Certificate in Engineering (merit), National Diploma in Engineering (MMM) or AS Levels in Maths or Science at grade C or above.

    Applications with equivalent qualifications or relevant experience will be considered and their suitability assessed during interview.

    Fee information

    The course fee is charged at £3,500 pa. There is no fee waiver or reduction available for this course. Course fees are generally covered by the student's employer.

    What qualification will I achieve?

    Pearson BTEC RQF Level 4 HNC Engineering (pathway Mechanical Engineering)

    How is my course assessed?

    Each module is assessed independently over the 2 years, by a combination of practical assignments and a written examination based on EdExcel guidelines.

This course will start in September and is usually run on a Thursday. Times and dates to be confirmed.
