I have just finished my first year studying BSc Veterinary Nursing. I chose to study at University centre West Anglia, due to its location, as this was close to home for me.
UcWA has an animal care unit on site, and this was an incredible opportunity, especially within the first year of lectures. We got to practice our handling skills on a variety of species, as well as practice basic health checks on them frequently.
What I enjoy about attending UcWA, is that Veterinary Nursing students are lucky enough to have our own dedicated area. Meaning our lectures and seminars have smaller groups, enabling us all the really engage in the subject together.
When I first began this degree, I was mainly interested in working within a small animal practice. However, I am now keeping my options open as there are so many routes available within this degree.
