Prior to starting my degree at University Centre West Anglia, I had completed the BTEC in Health and Social Studies at the College of West Anglia, between 2003-2005.
I attended an open day at UcWA and found the staff very supportive and welcoming, which gave me the confidence to apply for the course. Being a single parent of five, the location was extremely important to me and with the centre being local to me, it enabled me to carry on with everyday life as well as my education.
I can genuinely say that I really enjoy all the course content - contemporary social, psychology, sociology, psychoanalysis and philosophy. The course really has opened my mind and I’ve discovered a new love for learning.
I find that the environment of UcWA is a warm, welcoming and supportive environment. The tutors are wonderful and are there to support you when needed.
My experience at UcWA, has inspired me to keep studying and learning and I hope to continue my studies at a master’s level.
