I always wanted to work within the Veterinary Sector, originally, I wanted to be a Vet Surgeon, however after completing work experience I decided I wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse, since there was more hands-on experience of caring for the patients.
UcWA was closer to home which meant that I was able to continue working whilst doing my degree. This also enabled me to gain work experience in practices local to me, which I then joined full-time after completing my degree.
I really enjoyed studying animal behaviour, the content that was covered gave me an insight which I wouldn’t have necessarily gained otherwise, it has been very useful whilst working as a Veterinary Nurse.
The tutors are very knowledgeable, which engage us and created group discussions. We had a great cohort which helped, as we were able to help and share our ideas with one another.
I am now currently working at Vet4Pets as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, and this includes all aspects of nursing. I consult very regularly and monitor many anaesthetics for a variety of surgeries, as well as nursing the inpatients on a regular basis.
