Applications from Year 11 students
In this time of uncertainty around exams and qualifications, CWA can offer certainty to all year 11 applicants: we guarantee you an offer of a place on a suitable course in September 2020.
This guarantee applies to students:
- who have already applied but not yet had an interview
- who have yet to make an application
If you’ve already had an interview and been offered a place on a course, your offer still stands!
With the cancellation of the GCSE and other exams this summer, the government has confirmed that all year 11 students will receive a grade which fairly reflects the work they have already put in and each exam board will produce a calculated grade for each subject based on a number of factors, including teacher assessment. You can find more information on this here and here. Once these grades are available, we will use them to help us work out the best course and level for all applicants.
Can I still apply for a course which starts in September?
Will I need to have an interview?
We’re not planning to hold any face-to-face interviews and will usually make you an offer of a place based on your expected grades. In some cases, especially for late applicants (post-GCSE results), we may require you to have a telephone meeting with a member of staff.
Applications from adult (19+) students?
All adult applicants will be given an offer of a place if they meet the entry requirements for the course. If you don’t meet the entry requirements, we’ll usually be able to offer you a place on a different programme. For some courses, you may be required to have a telephone meeting with a member of staff.
I’m already a student at CWA; will I still be able to progress?
Yes! All current CWA learners will be able to progress onto the next level or move to the same level in a different programme area if they demonstrate the following:
- Completion of all work required by your current programme
- A clear focus on progress and preparation for your next steps
- A clear commitment to gaining work experience to improve your skills for work and/or further study
