Students at the College of West Anglia reached a significant milestone as they collected their A-Level and T-Level results and began looking ahead to the next stage of their education, training and careers.

Across CWA, learners marked results that will support their progression to university, employment and further study, with Results Day offering a moment to celebrate both their achievements and the personal journeys behind them.

Among those celebrating was Molly Morris who studied BTEC Applied Law and A-Levels in Business and English. She achieved a Distinction Star, A and B. She said upon receiving her results, “ I’m very happy with the grades I got, I’ve been accepted at the University of Nottingham to study law, which I’m very excited to start. At CWA, you’re able to be a lot more independent rather than at sixth form which means you’re able to study in a way that is better suited for you. The staff on my courses were really supportive.”

Sophie Bligh - T-Level in Education and Early Years

Also collecting their results was Sophie Bligh. After completing the T-Level in Education and Early Years, including an industry placement at Nene and Ramnoth school in Wisbech, she achieved a Distinction and will now go onto university. She said “I chose doing a T-Level over A-levels as I have a more practical learning style rather than academic and preferred the idea of being able to have an industry qualification. My tutors have been excellent and very supportive all the way through my course. I also enjoyed that throughout the course there was the element of fun throughout as well as learning. Now I’ve achieved my T-Level, I will be going to Anglia Ruskin University to study Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status.”

Sophie Burdett - T-Level Early Years and Education

Sophie Burdett also received her distinction in T-Level Early Years and Education which included an industry placement at Stepping Stones Pre-school in Leverington. She said ‘I picked to go to the College of West Anglia as it had a larger range of courses and provided more support than my other options. I enjoyed the time I spent at CWA due to the friends I made but also the knowledge and skills I’ve picked up to help me in my future career.’

These outcomes are the result of sustained commitment throughout their studies. I would also like to recognise the dedication of our CWA teams, alongside the families and support networks of our learners, who have provided consistent encouragement throughout the year. Today is an important milestone as these learners take their next steps with confidence."

For many students, those next steps will include university or continuing their education at a higher level. Others will move straight into employment, drawing on the practical skills, technical knowledge and employer experience gained during their courses.

Staff were on hand throughout the day to celebrate with students and offer advice and guidance to those exploring their next steps, including support with university places, clearing and further study.

Also celebrating Madison Whiley, who studied English Literature and Language, History and Psychology and achieved A*, B, C.
Madison will now progress to the University of East Anglia where she will be studying law. She said ‘I chose to come to CWA to do A-levels as I believed CWA offered more freedom and flexibility rather than sixth form. I'm so happy with my results and I'm excited to go to UEA to study law! I've really enjoyed coming to CWA as I've been able to make meaningful memories with friends and learnt something new every day. I would say to anyone thinking about CWA as an option that if you love the freedom of being an adult but want to move onto further education, then go to CWA.’

Kerry Heathcote, Vice Principal and Deputy CEO and Verity Deacon

Also receiving their results was Verity Deacon, who completed Sociology, Criminology and Psychology achieving A,A,B. After developing an interest in psychology, she came to CWA to pursue her ambition of a career in psychological research. She said ‘Coming to CWA was all about attending somewhere familiar that gave me a range of choices. I’ve loved making friends here and being able to learn and study with approachable lecturers and tutors.’

Olivia Smith- T Level in Management and Administration

For T-Level student Olivia Smith, results day marked the culmination of two years combining classroom learning with substantial industry experience. After achieving a Distinction in the T Level in Management and Administration which included an industry placement with Searles Leisure Resort in Hunstanton , Olivia said: ‘I chose to take a T-Level as A-Levels weren’t for me. I chose to do the T-Level in Management and Administration as I saw it as an opportunity to gain a good qualification in the industry I want to work with and gain work experience. Not only have I enjoyed the course thoroughly, but it’s been very useful in my role in the workplace. The support from my tutors has been brilliant and the whole atmosphere of CWA is lovely.’

Reuben Milner - T-Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction

Reuben Milner, who achieved a Distinction in T-Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction was very happy with his results and said ‘I’m over the moon about my results. I wanted to study Architecture at University and now I’ll be doing that at the University of Lincoln. I picked a T-Level as it was more suitable to my learning style and targeted for the industry I knew I wanted to go into.’
