Every year, the College of West Anglia’s Cambridge Campus, at Milton, comes alive for its free to attend Open Farm Sunday event. Last year saw just under 2000 visitors through the gates!
Unlike the majority of farms around the country, as well as tractor rides, sheep shearing and a chance to meet the animals at the college’s very own Woodside Farm, the whole campus is set to become a hive of activity from 10am-3pm, on Sunday 11 June 2017.
Aside from CWA’s farmyard festivities, members of the public can also enjoy a full array of fun-filled activities including a visit to the small petting area, reptile handling a chance to explore the dog grooming facilities, animal training demonstrations, a treasure hunt, plus much more… and with activities in every building, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
The equine department is offering children the opportunity to have a go on the horse simulator and will also be putting on equine displays throughout the day, including pony shows, horse vaulting and a chance to check out the Equine Therapy Centre with aqua treadmill demonstrations.
If you fancy making a day of it, visitors can enjoy lunch in our dedicated picnic area. There will be plenty of food and drink options from hog roasts and ice creams to bake sales and tea/coffee stands. For locals in the know, foodPark Cam will also be making a special appearance, bringing along Steak and Honour, Holy Schnitzels, Churros Bar, and The Tin Kitchen.
The College of West Anglia is preparing for big crowds on the day and so last entry will be at 2pm. There is onsite parking available.
The college will be joined by a host of external organisations including Suffolk Owl Sanctuary and the Women’s Institute. So come along and join in the fun!
