As a college, we proudly marked Pride Month this June with vibrant and inclusive celebrations across all our campuses, uniting students, staff and the wider community in support of LGBTQIA+ inclusion and visibility.
Each campus hosted its own event to celebrate love, identity, and allyship, promoting awareness and fostering a sense of community.
At Wisbech campus, the Pride spirit was in full force with a range of colorful activities, including charity stalls from local LGBTQIA+ organisations, face painting and a glam station run by Level 1 Hair and Beauty students, who offered creative hair and makeup makeovers.
Coal and Lucy have been involved in volunteering for Pride at the campus for the past four years.
Coal said ‘I’ve been doing this for four years. It’s really important that we celebrate Pride Month – it's a passion project for me for personal reasons. I think there needs to be a safe space, and it’s so nice that we get to celebrate it.’
Lucy added ‘I’ve also been helping for four years and as someone who is part of the LGBTQIA community, it means alot. Pride month gives us the chance to show off and celebrate the community – our friends too.’
These events reflect CWA’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity, student voice, and creating safe spaces for all identities. The CWA pride activities continue to grow each year, driven by passionate students and supportive staff who champion equality and community.
