Female pupils look at construction careers
Many young girls are now opting to study for careers in the construction industry.
The College of West Anglia in King’s Lynn encourages them to visit the campus to see some of the subjects that are available.
Recently the college hosted a visit by around 20 female pupils, from King Edward VII High, King’s Lynn Academy, Marshland High and Downham Market Academy.
The Year 8 pupils had the opportunity to experience tasters in the construction industry including architectural surveying, plumbing, carpentry and computer aided design work.
Supporting the visit were managers from prominent consruction company RG Carter.
Some of the pupils are pictured trying their skills at some of areas taught by the college in its state-of-the-art facilities.
