Former King’s Lynn resident and CWA student, Richard Meek, who studied performing arts at the college from 1998-2003, returns to Norfolk this week starring as Brad Majors in the current UK tour of Richard O’Brien’s the Rocky Horror Show.
Since studying at the College of West Anglia on a BTEC Performing Arts course, Meek has gone onto perform in London's West End, as well as touring the UK and Europe, with shows such as Joseph, Starlight Express and Spamalot.
Meek, 34, said: “My memories of CWA are all fun ones; new and exciting experiences and a feeling of freedom to learn and develop myself in a way I'd not been able to before.
“Without the College of West Anglia I wouldn't be where I am today – they helped this Norfolk boy, dreaming of being an actor, turn his dreams into reality. It’s given me an amazing base set of skills that have been the foundation of my career.”
First performed in 1973, the Rocky Horror Show has been performed in over 30 countries and has been translated into more than 20 languages. The musical tells the story of two kids, Brad Majors and his fiancée Janet Weiss, and their encounter with Dr. Frank’n’Furter at the Frankenstein Place.
