Snakes alive! Campus helps overcome charity’s fears
The campus at the College of West Anglia near Cambridge is helping people overcome their worst fears.
NHS Health Education East of England at nearby Fulbourn asked if the college could help as the person they had booked had to step down.
They were all raising money for the charity Changing Faces by Face Your Fears week and some of the staff were facing their fear of snakes.
Tracey Palmer, companion animal centre co-ordinator at the campus at Milton, who helps people beat their phobias, said: “We obliged and I went along with two snakes Dorothy (milk snake) and Marc Antony (royal python).
“All the staff were great and two of the staff handled the snake brilliantly.
“One of the staff members was absolutely petrified. He did not handle the snake but was very brave to be in the same room as well as touch the snake.
“I produced certificates for all the staff so they had a keepsake of their fear.”
