Students from the King's Lynn campus have been giving back to the community by rejuvenating an area of The Walks, in King’s Lynn, ready for spring. 30 students from the uniformed services department helped council workers plant 5000 bulbs in the recreational area, just off of the Tennyson Avenue entrance. This was organised in conjunction with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. Uniformed service tutor Pat Kavanagh said: “This is our way of introducing students to a volunteering activity which gives back to the community and leaves a living legacy in the area. Last year we planted trees at Nar Ouse Way. This year, we planned the project to coincide with Remembrance Day proceedings as this is a very significant time of the year for our students and staff.” Cllr Elizabeth Nockolds, borough council cabinet member for Culture, Heritage and Health, added: “Once again we’ve invited students to join council staff on a project that makes our landscape more attractive, and benefits everyone. It’s great to see young people getting involved in their community like this.” [gallery grids="News" image_size="large" tiles="true" ids="11833,11832,11831"]
