A Wisbech automotive paint supplier is helping the next generation of vehicle repair specialists gain hands-on industry experience after donating materials to the College of West Anglia (CWA).
Kett Autopaints has generously donated a large quantity of water-based automotive paint to support learners studying Vehicle Body and Paint Operations at the College’s Wisbech campus.
Water-based paint is widely used for automotive refinishing and manufacturing basecoats. It also provides environmentally friendly coatings and high-quality colour matching across a wider range of vehicle finishes. The donation will enable the students to understand the techniques, knowledge and standards needed when utilising this type of paint confidently in the workplace.
Brian Kett, Company Chairman of Kett Autopaints (Anglia) Ltd said, “Kett Autopaints is pleased to support the next generation of paint and body repair professionals at the College of West Anglia. Our relationship with the College has gone from strength to strength over nearly forty years, and this donation is a valuable opportunity to reaffirm that partnership. With the support of our suppliers, we are always keen to provide materials and supplies to the College where we can. As a regional distributor serving East Anglia for forty-six years, with branches in Peterborough, Wisbech and Norwich; we are proud to have welcomed College of West Anglia students for work experience and, over the past few years employed three of four learners after they graduated."
Mark Elvin, Paint and Bodyshop Level 2 Course Director said, “This generous donation from Kett Autopaints will make a real difference to our Paint and Bodyshop learners at Wisbech. This means that they can undertake their training with quality materials and gain the experience of working to a professional standard. Opportunities like this really help to bring the trade to life in the bodyshop and give students a better understanding of what will be expected of them when they move into the industry.”
This is contribution is a perfect example of a local community link between CWA and local businesses.
