Anya is a visually impaired learner who has exceeded all expectations and requirements as a student at the college’s Sport’s Campus. She continually looks to enhance her work and often completes it before deadline.

Anya said: ‘I choose to study at CWA because I wanted to study sports. Being a swimmer, I had a passion for the sports industry and wanted to work in this sector.

Alongside studying at college, Anya is a competitive swimmer, representing her local club and competing at a national level. She takes her physical training seriously and dedicates time to physical training in the college gym daily.

She said: ‘I started swimming at the age four and started to compete from the age of ten. I began to compete in national competitions from the age of eleven.

I enjoy everything about my course, especially the practical aspects of it. I love being able to use the gym facilities at the Sport’s Campus, as well as learning how to do new exercises.

I am looking forward to developing my knowledge and experience further, by undertaking a L3 Sport Science Programme from September at the Sport’s Campus.

I would love to become a personal trainer and help others in the future.

Anya's tutor said: ‘Anya is a conscientious, hardworking student who completes the work set, submitting all assignments early. She is very keen to help others in the class, never complains and certainly doesn't let her visual impairment get in the way of anything. She has taken part in every practical session this year, without fail.’
