At the age of six, Paige went through a life changing experience when she became unwell and sadly lost her sight. Since then she has had to face daily challenges, which she has overcome through sheer determination.
Paige has taught her class group, a level three childcare class, and staff members how to read braille, creating brilliant resources to help everyone learn, demonstrating confidence, resourcefulness and maturity beyond her years.
Paige’s supportive and caring personality means that she is respected and liked by her peers. She always actively participates in class discussions and group work, encouraging others to join in too.
Paige has received excellent feedback from her work placement at a school, where she has independently created her own resources for the classes she supports. She is now looking towards securing employment in classroom support at the end of her course.
Paige's tutor said: "It is a real pleasure to have Paige in the classroom, to see her strong determination and growing confidence.”
