Mandy is taking the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship. Mandy wanted to progress her career into a senior management role and the apprenticeship route meant that she was able to study a degree without having to leave full-time employment or obtain a student loan.

Mandy said “I have been fortunate that employers have supported me whilst studying and working. With the degree, there is a lot more reading involved compared to previous qualifications. I found that I quickly adapted to my new routine.

Studying this course has had a great impact, one being my confidence, which has increased, enabling me to involve myself with complex projects at work alongside senior managers. I have also been fortunate to gain a promotion during the apprenticeship.

I knew it would be challenging to undertake a degree apprenticeship whilst working and having a busy home life, however, the support from tutors and other students has been much more than I anticipated. The way that lectures are structured in small groups gives more opportunities for us to discuss topics in more depth. This has certainly changed my perspective on how I break down information and analyse what it really means.

If you’re wanting to take on a degree apprenticeship, I would say “Don’t be afraid or hesitant to think you can’t do it, you can!”
