Nathan Pack
Operations Manager
Dodman Ltd is an engineering company that designs, manufactures and installs machinery for the food processing industry, employing around 60 people. A family business established in 1991, Dodmans has a base of highly skilled engineers in projects, design, manufacture, site services, health & safety and innovation.
They take on apprentices from CWA every year, taking advantage of funding available to employ apprentices.
Nathan said, “We need young people to keep coming through to take over from our aging workforce. The College is close to our business, so assistance is close by. The tutors seem committed to the College and that rubs off onto the students.”
Dodman Ltd also join in careers events at CWA. At a recent Technology Fair, Nathan explained, “Being present at college career fairs allows us to connect directly with the next generation of talent. Apprenticeships are a key part of our workforce because they allow us to develop talent from the ground up. Events like today not only strengthen our reputation as an employer but with the educational organisation itself, as well as having an opportunity to showcase what we do and sell the career paths we offer to the future local workforce.’
