Areas that will be covered during the sessions will include:
- Health and safety practices
- Good housekeeping
- Tools, equipment and materials used within the activities
- Tasks carried out for basic routine maintenance for light vehicles
The course will start of by covering the more basic items that, as drivers, we are expected to know but may have never really been taught and will finish with the basics that you can do before your annual MOT test.
This will include:
- How to open the bonnet and where to find the bonnet realise catch
- How to check and adjust fluids levels including any risks involved.
- How to safely jack up a vehicle using the car jack that is supplied with the vehicle alongside a safer alternative.
- How to remove and replace a wheel and carry out a basic tyre inspection
- How to carry out an external light check (MOT requirement)
- How to change a front and rear light bulb (Depending on what vehicle you have this may not be possible
