As someone working in further education, adult and community learning or work-based training, our diploma in education will prepare you to teach in a wide range of contexts and requires observation and assessment of practice. The course meets the needs of a range of teachers, including:
The course is delivered in a blending learning model and the average time you'll spend working on the course is three hours per week, which includes scheduled lesson content, assignments and academic reading. The course is delivered in a blended learning format, with some sessions being on-site and others being held online on Microsoft Teams or through our virtual learning environment, LEARN.
The course is a unit based qualification made up of mandatory and optional units. Optional units will be chosen with you depending on your working situation and will be discussed at your course interview.
You should also have a grade 4 or functional skills equivalent in English and Maths. If you do not have these grades, we will ask you to complete a short BKSB assessment following your interview to determine your suitability.

This course is delivered in a blended learning format. You will either be at the King's Lynn campus or studying remotely through sessions on Teams or by using our virtual learning environment, LEARN.
Following completion of this course, you will be eligible to complete Professional Formation via the Society for Education and Training and apply for Qualified Teacher of Learning and Skills status (QTLS)

This course is assessed through written assignments, observations, reflective journals, case studies, checklists, online assessments, portfolio of evidence, professional discussions and general questioning.
