Diploma in Retail Skills - Level 2

This qualification aims to provide learners with the understanding and practical skills in working in the retail sector. It is a job-ready course that requires learners to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required when working in the retail industry and is ideal for those volunteering or working in their first retail role or who wish to progress in their retail career.

This qualification will require learners to take part in a paid or voluntary work experience in a suitable retail environment for a minimum of 5 hours per week for the duration of the course.

Course Description
There are 6 units for the Diploma (39 credits).
- Unit 1: Work effectively in a retail team
- Unit 2: Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
- Unit 3: Dress visual merchandising displays to attract customers
- Unit 4: Deal with customer queries and complaints in a retail environment
- Unit 5: Contribute to monitoring and maintaining ease of shopping in a retail sales area
- Unit 6: Monitor and maintain health and safety in a retail environment
Entry Requirements

You must be 19+ years at the start of the academic year (31st August 2025) to access this course.

There are no prior qualifications or experience needed to commence this qualification however you will need to have a good comprehension of English in verbal and written form.

A paid or voluntary work experience role in the retail sector is required to complete the course.
