Course Description
Develop an understanding of the principles of equality and diversity through this accredited distance learning course. This equality diversity course is aimed at individuals and employers alike who wish to gain further skills to develop careers and progress in the workplace. Suitable for those interested in social awareness and looking for diversity training within the workplace, the community or at home. Whether you would like to strengthen your own knowledge, or become more socially aware, this level 2 certificate training course is perfect for you.
What will I study on this course?
- Unit 1: Equality and diversity in society
Discover the meaning behind the term equality and explore the damaging effects of stereotyping and labelling.
- Unit 2: Equality and diversity in the community
Develop an understanding of the extent of diversity that exists within a community and understand the benefits of promoting a culture of equality and diversity.
- Unit 3: Equality and diversity in the workplace
Learn how equality and diversity can be promoted and maintained by employees and the benefits of having a dynamic, diverse workforce.

Adult (19+) learners
Depending on your age, course, educational history and personal circumstances, there may be options available for you to receive a course fully-funded by the government. Our fee calculator will help give you an idea on whether you'll be able to have your course fee waived or covered by an Advanced Learner Loan.
Learners with an active Education, Health & Care Plan
If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
