Adults Part-TimeThe Health and Social Care Academy is a weeks free training and guest speakers, including a practical session. You will gain skills and knowledge to apply for confidence for jobs with a local social care employer.
As part of the programme you will have the opportunity to meet with local care employers and support to prepare for interview.
Topics covered include conditions affecting older people, how to support people with age related additional needs, professional communication skills, moving and assisting patients and how to assist service users with activities of daily living.
You will need to be aged 19 or above at the start of the programme.

The course is FREE to anyone aged 19 or over who has been resident in the UK for over 3 years. If you have been in the UK for less than 3 years please contact our Admissions team for more information
On successful completion of the course you will gain a level 2 award in Care of the Elderly and (if you are in employment in the sector) will be ready to embark on the care certificate, a qualification nationally recognised by health and social care employers.
