Adults Employers Part-TimeThis two-day intensive course equips you with the essential theory and hands-on flight skills required for safe, professional drone operations.
The curriculum covers a comprehensive range of critical topics, including CAA regulatory guidelines, UK air law, meteorology, and robust mission planning. You will move from classroom safety protocols to field-based practical exercises, ensuring you can operate responsibly in complex environments.
Through guided flight manouvres and real-world risk assessments, you will build the proficiency needed to handle equipment confidently and stay compliant with current aviation standards. Whether you are a hobbyist or an aspiring commercial pilot, this course fosters a thorough understanding of the technical and theoretical aspects of the modern drone industry.
During the course you will have the opportunity to complete your CAA License in the A1 & A3 Open Category.
There is age requirement of 19+ for participants.

Depending on your age, course, educational history and personal circumstances, there may be options available for you to receive a course fully-funded by the government. Our fee calculator will help give you an idea on whether you'll be able to have your course fee waived or covered by an Advanced Learner Loan.
If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
