Adults Employers Part-TimeThis qualification is for those aspiring to work as part of a school workforce who directly support the teaching and learning of pupils. Full teaching assistant training is required for anyone looking to work unsupervised in an educational role, either as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant.
This course is designed for those looking to develop their knowledge and skills within the sector and advance their career within a teaching and learning support role. During this NCFE Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning training course you will learn how to support teachers with the delivery of a school curriculum, while helping children to develop self-esteem, independence and abilities for learning.
This NCFE Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning training course is taught as a blended learning course, giving you the chance to put your knowledge into practice with a 200 hour work placement in an Ofsted regulated organisation with children between the ages of 6-19.
The learner is responsible for finding a suitable placement and the school needs to be on the college-approved database.
You will need:
GCSE Grade 4 (C) or higher in English Language and Maths, as well as Science if you wish to progress into teaching.
A satisfactory DBS check
Ideally, applicants will have previously completed the Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning along with a number of professional CPD events.

Depending on your age, course, educational history and personal circumstances, there may be options available for you to receive a course fully-funded by the government. If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
This is a competence-based qualification based on National Occupational Standards and is a job-ready award that requires learners to demonstrate skills and knowledge to work in this sector.
As a competence-based qualification elements will be assessed in the work place and will follow the relevant assessment requirements.
