Level 1 Business and Tourism at CWA organised and hosted a bingo and afternoon tea event at Novus Restaurant at King’s Lynn campus in aid of West Norfolk Befriending.
The student group raised £82.50. Funds were raised from the sale of sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee, bingo tickets and raffle. The fundraiser formed part of the project work on the Level 1 Business and Tourism course.
West Norfolk Befriending aims to reduce social isolation by providing a link to the outside world. They match isolated older people with trained volunteer Befrienders who visit or call on a regular basis. The travel and tourism students chose West Norfolk Befriending to fundraise for because they wanted to support a local cause to help end loneliness.
Nicola Leadley Course Director of Travel and Tourism said:
“The students were brilliant. They were all new to event management and had never worked together as a team before. They rose to the challenge and staged a successful event that helped them to develop new skills, all the guests enjoyed and raised £82 for West Norfolk Befriending.”
