Level 2 hairdressing student, Isla Sivell from College of West Anglia was given an unique opportunity to attend an exclusive event held by Captain Fawcett, a renowned name in the male grooming industry.
The event, held at Captain Fawcett HQ, King’s Lynn, brought together 25 respected Barber Ambassadors from across the UK and beyond. It was designed to provide an immersive experience in high-end barbering featuring product education, live demonstrations, and networking with industry experts.
One of the key highlights of the day was a wet shave and haircut demonstrator by Sid Sottung, a leading barber educator. Attendees also received valuable product knowledge sessions, a tour of the Barbershop Museum and a professional portrait session with renowned photographer Iain Crockart.
Isla said, ‘I was lucky enough to spend the day at the Captain Fawcett event, and it was such an amazing experience, I got to learn so much beyond my college course, like how to trim beards and do a wet shave- things I never thought I’d get the chance to try! Hearing about different careers in hairdressing was so interesting and gave me a lot of inspiration for the future. Finding out that Richie, the founder, started it all so close to where I grew up made it even more special! I’m really grateful for the opportunity and for how welcoming everyone was – it's a day I won’t forget!’
