Paul Harrison, CWA's Executive Director of Finance and Resources only started work in King’s Lynn last year, but is always willing to get stuck in and make his face known.
Mr Harrison has followed suit of the Senior Management Team (SMT) at CWA and gone back to the floor, with the apprentices at Dersingham VA Primary School.
The College of West Anglia is one of the largest training providers in the region, and works with hundreds of employers across Norfolk and Cambridgeshire in supporting students (aged 16+) through apprenticeships in a wide variety of work areas. Work-based learning is a great opportunity to combine practical experience and technical support.
Dersingham VA Primary School is fully supportive of their five CWA apprentices with both intermediate and advanced level students currently gaining qualifications whilst working on the job.
Mr Harrison spent the afternoon helping out with a make-pretend shop, helping pupils to learn the value of money and getting involved in PE lessons as a mature apprentice going back to the floor.

He said: “It’s great to see the apprentices at work and hear such positive comments from the staff about their enthusiasm for the job. It’s clear that the children love them!”
Josh Peel, one of the five apprentices at Dersingham Primary School, said: “We get such good support from staff and each other that we are all achieving the outcome we want. Paul Harrison has demonstrated such awareness in what we do as apprentices at the school and knew all about us and what stage of our apprenticeship we are at. It’s nice to have someone show interest to that extent.”
