On Tuesday 4th December, students from the college came together to celebrate their completion of the National Citizen Service (NCS) October programme.
NCS is a skills building programme for 15 to 17 years olds, delivered by a series of charities, college consortia and Voluntary, Community, Social Enterprise (VCSE) and private sector partnerships across England.

The programme took place from 20
th October-26
th October and was split into three phases, including a residential trip to manor Adventure in Lyng, learning life skills in classes at the college and using the tools, opportunities and respect they have gained on the programme to change the world around them through working on a local community project.
The six participating teams raised £678.46 for the Royal British Legion's poppy appeal campaign. Other activities that the students got involved in included helping out at Goodwins Care Home and holding a blanket collection for The Purfleet Trust.

To celebrate these achievements, a graduation ceremony was held at the King’s Lynn Town Hall. Over 150 students attended, as well as VIPs including Tony and Sandra Davis from the Wisbech institute, Julie Tranter from Goodwins Hall Care Home and Hugh King from the Royal British Legion. It was a wonderful night to celebrate all the young people who had stepped out of their comfort zones and said ‘Yes to NCS’.
Programme Manager of Uniformed Services for King’s Lynn and Wisbech, Lee Mallott, said:
“It’s been another highly enjoyable and rewarding experience for the students participating in this wave. Many congratulations to them for their hard work and we hope to welcome some of them back to work and inspire others in future NCS programmes.”
