Caitlin always wanted to work in childcare and the T-level gave the right balance between classroom learning and practical working.
She says, “CWA gave me the best route to work in childcare. This course was easily accessible and the T–level meant I knew what working in a nursery entailed, before looking for full time employment.
I have plenty of memories at CWA - from my own personal development to meeting new friends. I was class representative for both years of my study. This helped me to realise that if others believed in me, I could believe in myself. Studying childcare at CWA helped me to get valuable skills and knowledge, including effective communication, understanding child development, being a good role model, creating a safe and nurturing environment and implementing age-appropriate activities. “
After attending her work placement during her course, Catlin was offered employment with them throughout the summer. After gaining more work experience, Catlin’s long-term goal is to go to university to study child development further.
