“I knew I wanted to dance professionally within the performing arts industry, whether this was securing contracts on tours, theatre productions, music videos or working alongside big brands throughout their marketing campaigns.

I chose to study at CWA due to the location being close to home, along with transport links being close to enable me to go to London or Cambridge, where I would train in my own time. The course also covered every area of dance, which was needed to get into university and or vocational schools.

The course had a great diversity between practical and theory lessons, meaning we were able to put our newly learnt knowledge into reality and were guided on how to use the practical skills further in our training and later life. Personally, learning from industry professionals throughout the course and covering a wide range of styles was the most enjoyable attribute and benefitted my training for future years. Overall, my time at CWA was well spent, I learnt a great deal about myself, my potential and how to achieve my aspirations. Having tutors and members of staff who: put their best foot forward, believed in your journey and wanted you to succeed was a huge benefactor in achieving my goals. For that, I am grateful.

After completing my course, I then went on to study BA (Hons) Dance: Urban Practice at University of East London in Stratford. I continued to train professionally with Myself UK Dance Company and took regular classes at Pineapple Dance Studios, Husky Studios and Studio 68. I was able to audition and attend castings for professional employment and landed a job with NIKE as a dancer for the GMT Clothing Launch, a three-month theatre contract, choreographed a piece for the O2 Arena, London, secured as Lead Choreographer for the Cambridge ‘Strawberries and Creem’ Festival Flash Mob, amongst many more opportunities.”
