Dan studied an intermediate apprenticeship in fabrication and welding followed by an advanced apprenticeship at Dodman Limited.
Dan wanted to be a skilled tradesman. During his time at sixth form Dan was given a short introduction to engineering, which included work experience at Dodman Limited. He was then offered an interview at Dodman Limited.
Dan started his apprenticeship journey at Dodman Limited and his ambition was to become a skilled tradesman saying, “If you’re thinking of studying an apprenticeship, then research what recent apprentices have been trained at a company. Working with a great company with high standards, an apprenticeship is a great way to gain the experience that is required.”
He added “My time at CWA enabled me to gain the evidence I needed to gain employment, I am now the Director of my own engineering company and I also have recruited an apprentice from CWA.”
Dan chose CWA to train his apprentice as it was local and a college that he had trained at. Dan said, “The benefit of hiring an apprentice is it’s a good way to contribute towards training people for the future of engineering. At college, the apprentice can gain the certification required for his current and future work. CWA have been very supportive and enable the apprentices to achieve their qualifications.”
