“I studied Animal Management Level 3. Prior to starting my course, I wasn’t clear on my career goals and hoped that I would find something that interested me on the course, which I did.
I chose to study at CWA as they had the course I wanted to do, and there was such a variety of animals on the campus. The main content of my course was mixed. The more notable and enjoyable topics for me were on nutrition, behaviour, nursing, biology and performing handling duties.
My memories at CWA are nothing but positive. I have made friends with similar interests, learnt a lot of information and had a lot of hands-on time with the animals on site. The lecturers were outstanding, knowledgeable and kind. I always felt supported by staff and had someone to turn to.
After completing my vocational course, I went on to take an apprenticeship as a veterinary nurse. I have almost completed my course and will soon be a registered veterinary nurse. At CWA, I have learnt so much that is directly related to my current role as a veterinary nurse, both in lectures and practical hands-on time with the animals.
My current employer is Mill House Veterinary Hospital and my role involves caring for patients in the wards, monitoring anaesthesia, performing out of hours emergency care, giving advice to clients and performing nurse consultation with patients.”
