I wanted to develop a career in painting and decorating, this course has enabled me to learn the skills that are required. I chose to come to CWA as it was the only college offering the course, it was also the closest and convenient college near to me.

The main content of the course is learning the essential basics of painting and decorating. We have also covered cutting in, how to apply wallpaper and many other aspects of painting and decorating. I specifically enjoyed paperhanging and seeking different methods to improve.

Memories I have a CWA are positive, I’m studying a course that I am very interested in and have had many great opportunities around the course. I have reached many personal achievements during my time at college.

On completion of my level 1 and 2, I then gained an apprenticeship through the college at MB Hand Painted Kitchens. My role within the company involves me learning as much as I can, from cutting in, rolling walls, applying wallpaper, and helping MB Hand Painted Kitchens, enabling me to progress further within my painting and decorating career. Once I have completed my apprenticeship, I plan to go self-employed.
