I chose this course as it is a recognised route into many healthcare related degrees at university, and the part time hours allow scope for working too.
My course generally starts at 3:30pm and lectures can run up until 9pm. We tend to have a brief Q & A with the tutors at the end of the evening, to address any concerns that we have with assignments or any other aspects of the course. The tutors are very helpful and approachable - nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
I find everything about the course very interesting. I have always had a keen interest in science and healthcare, even though I worked in the construction sector for almost two decades. I thoroughly enjoy the course and learning about something I am passionate about. I am looking forward to learning about psychology, as this is a subject I haven’t studied before and is the next major unit.
I chose to study at CWA, primarily because of the location, as I live local to King’s Lynn, so it made perfect sense. CWA offers many Access diplomas, so it was no surprise they had a healthcare-related diploma that was a perfect match to my career aspirations.
As a mature student of forty-six, I had concerns about fitting in, but everyone is truly friendly. As for educational support, the tutors couldn’t do more to encourage learning. My general impression of the tutors is highly favourable, and the college itself is a lovely learning environment with pleasant grounds, despite its urban location.
I plan to further my study at university and hope to begin BSc in Radiotherapy in September 2021.
