The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to become early years educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to five years and gain knowledge of children aged five to seven years.

Upon achievement of this qualification, it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as early years educators.

This qualification requires learners to complete a mandatory work/industry placement experience throughout the duration of the qualification, before certification.

Learners must complete all 10 mandatory units - 95 credits

Entry Requirements

You must be 19 years or older in the previous academic year to access this course.

You must have recent, relevant experience within this sector at level 2 and/or hold a level 2 Early Years qualification to enrol on this course.

You must be in a paid or voluntary role in a suitable workplace setting, carrying out supervisory tasks. This should be for a minimum of 10 hours per week.

You should ideally hold a GCSE grade 4 or above or a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in English. An assessment may be carried out to determine suitability if you do not have this.

There is no funding available to receive this qualification fully funded. You will, however, be able to apply for an advanced learner loan (ALL) to cover the full cost.
