College of West Anglia’s (CWA) football, basketball and netball teams are ready to start their first games of the new season after a year’s hiatus.
CWA Sport’s campus is home to football, netball and basketball youth academies. All teams play in the Association of College’s Sport East leagues and are looking forward to upcoming home, away, league and cup fixtures across the region.
Scott Leadley, Programme Manager for Sport, said:
“Our academy teams are training particularly hard to ensure they are match-ready. We are really looking forward to the season ahead - it’s good to see so many players raring to go. We have a strong side and we are focussed on ramping up our training programme and recruiting new talent to add to our existing squads to ensure we achieve the best possible outcomes this year.”
The sports academy kits have been designed by staff and students to support and promote equality, diversity and inclusion in sports and the wider sporting community. The netball, football and basketball team kits - sponsored by Double G Clothing - now feature rainbow colours to represent diversity and inclusivity.
CWA’s Sports Campus offers courses in wide range of areas, from sports science to coaching and fitness and apprenticeships, with many of its alumni going on to further study at university, as well as pursuing careers in personal training and fitness, coaching and leadership and as leisure centre assistants and managers.
