Animal rescue teach-in can help raise funds
A horse with a real difference will be visiting the Cambridge campus of the College of West Anglia next month.
But the guest is a large training model called Roscoe and is owned by Cambridge Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire and rescue team will have qualified animal rescue specialists to deliver a hands-on look at the subject of animal rescue at the campus in Landbeach Road, Milton, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Thursday, March 27.
This event is suitable for those with an interest in the field of large animal rescue eg veterinary nurses, equine students and agricultural students.
There will be an opportunity to:
See the equipment that is used to carry out these tricky operations;
Observe some of the techniques that the Animal Rescue Crew use in these situations;
To practise the skills on Roscoe the training model used by the Fire and Rescue Service;
To learn, “what not to do” if you ever find yourself in a situation where an animal needs rescuing.
Tickets, which must be bought in advance, are £5 each with all proceeds donated to: The Cambridge Fire Fighters Charity.
