Cambridge Vaulting Club brings home four English champions
CWA Cambridge is now home to four English vaulting champions.
The Cambridge Vaulting Team, based at the College of West Anglia Cambridge Campus, competed in the English Vaulting Championships, on Sunday 25 September, at the unicorn equestrian centre in Gloucestershire.
Cambridge vaulters competed in a wide variety of classes from para walk individual to 1*. They had eight vaulters competing in the walk individual freestyle class, with representatives in the under nine category, 9-12years category and the para category. There were an additional five pairs competing in the walk pas de deux class.
The afternoon 1* and Novice freestyles were all performed in canter on the marvellous Boris and Sandie. The horses and vaulters performed really well throughout the day gaining some excellent results.
Jade Rouchy, who runs the Cambridge Vaulting Club, said: “The vaulters continue to astound me with their hard work, dedication and achievements. I’m extremely proud of their success and that of our very special horses. They are all a pleasure to coach and we’re looking forward to the British Championships in just two weeks’ time.”

• Lexi (1st) - Junior 1* English champion
• Meghan (2nd) - Senior 1* reserve English champion
• Isabelle (1st) - Novice English champion
• Katie (2nd) - Reserve novice English champion
• Charlotte & Sheri-Anne (2nd) - Reserve walk pas de deux English champions
• Lizzie (1st) - Para walk individual English champion
• Chloe (1st) - Under 9 walk individual champion
• Vivienne (2nd) - Reserve under 9 walk individual champion.
