The College of West Anglia’s King’s Lynn campus was buzzing with excitement as guests gathered at Novus restaurant for a special Bingo and Burger night in support of the 8:56 Foundation.
Guests enjoyed burgers of their choice, with a dessert of homemade Eton Mess prepared and served by students from the hospitality and catering department, before diving into an evening of classic bingo fun. With prizes up for grabs and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, the event was a big hit with all attendees.
Hosted at the College’s on-site training restaurant, Novus, the evening highlighted both the talents of CWA students and the generosity of the community, all coming together to raise funds for the 8:56 Foundation, which raises awareness of men’s mental health.
Isla Arlott, who is studying a Level Two CG Diploma in Professional Cookery, said, ‘It’s so great to be able to gain valuable experience while fundraising for a charity that has such a positive impact on the local community.’
Matt Oakes, the 8:56 Foundation Chairman, said, "We’re incredibly grateful to the team at Novus Restaurant and the brilliant students from the College of West Anglia for hosting a fantastic Bingo and Burger night in support of the 8:56 Foundation. The funds raised will go directly toward our Wellbeing Pathway and Mental Health First Aid training initiatives that make a real difference in men’s lives. Thank you to all involved again for not only supporting but raising awareness for men's mental health, it really means a huge amount to us."
The event raised £128.50 for the 8:56 Foundation.
