Campus hosts new dressage sensation event
Teams at the Cambridge campus of the College of West Anglia are preparing to take part in and host equestrian events labeled the newest sensation in dressage.
Team Quest is described as the most exciting announcement for generations to hit the sport of dressage in Great Britain.
The campus at Milton has been chosen for three regional heats with competitors in the Under 16, Under 25 and open categories.
It is hoped that as well as hosting eastern region events, the campus will also enter its own teams of students and staff.
It is British Dressage (BD) which has just launched a new competition for riders of all ages and abilities and called it Team Quest.
Team Quest is now looking for riders to take part in a fun and relaxed dressage competition – even if they have never competed before.
Teams of three or four riders will ride as individuals across the three test levels (any combination) and the best three scores count towards an overall team total, highest percentage wins the day.
Teams will need to be registered with British Dressage before competing. The scores will be combined to give a team mark and teams will then be placed by this. There will be a national championship and teams will qualify for this by competing at their local venues Cambridgeshire Horse Sport Academy is running three team quest competitions this year, one in March, May and July.
