Art and Design students at the College of West Anglia (CWA) showcased their creativity, skill, and innovation at the public exhibition named ‘Changes’ held at the King’s Lynn campus in June.
The event featured an impressive range of work from Level 2 and Level 3 UAL Art and Design students, including photography, sculpture, textiles, digital design, illustration, and fine art. From bold, conceptual installations to intricate personal projects, the exhibition captured the diverse talents and unique voices of this year’s cohort.
Visitors, including families, and members of the community were invited to explore the creative processes behind the students’ final projects. The exhibition space was transformed into a vibrant, gallery-style environment, allowing students to present their work professionally and with confidence.
Ella Wilkinson studying UAL Ext Dip Creative Practice Level 3 in Art & Design said, '”World of Colour” is personal to me – it's about experiencing a brighter, more hopeful world while still being aware of how dark things can feel, especially in the news and around us. It reflects my journey with mental health and learning to be able to see things differently. My favourite part of the course was the final project because it gave me the freedom to fully explore my creativity across different mediums without the usual structural or restrictions. If I could give one piece of advice to anyone starting college, it would be to find a good group of friends – having people around you makes all the difference.’
The exhibition forms a key part of the students’ final assessment and gives them valuable experience in preparing, curating, and presenting work for a public audience, mirroring real-world expectations in the creative industries.
Ewan Paton, Photography Course Director said ‘I’m Incredibly proud of the hard work and organisation these students have put in. It's resulted in our strongest show yet. It's a long journey for some learners with different personal struggles, but with the support and care we give at CWA they have come on leaps and bounds to produce professional quality work.’
Paul Gibson, Creative Arts Programme Manager, said ‘The End of Year Art & Design Show is always something to look forward to. This year we continue to showcase a wide range of disciplines from our curriculum offer. The exhibition is a celebration of our students’ creativity, effort, and development and I wish to thank the staff team for their commitment to supporting our learners and putting on such an incredible show.’
