[gallery ids="3190,3191"] Full-time students and apprentices were recognised for outstanding achievement in 2014-15 at the annual CWA Student of the Year Awards on 24 June. Students have been given recognition for their hard work and commitment, at the CWA’s annual student awards. The glitzy celebration night held at the King’s Lynn Corn Exchange was attended by around 250 guests including staff, governors, dignitaries as well as the families of the award winners. Shortlisted from an original field of more than 60 nominations, 17 individual students and one student group from across the college collected awards across 9 different categories. Each award was preceded by a video of the three shortlisted nominees before the winners and runners up were announced. CWA Principal David Pomfret spoke proudly at the awards, praising students, tutors, parents and supporting employers: “Celebrating success and achievement is a core part of everything we do at CWA and tonight some of our fantastic students will receive awards to recognise their commitment, standard of work and achievements during the year” said Mr Pomfret Mr Pomfret also spoke of the continual improvements to our campuses and teaching facilities, including the soon-to-be-started university centre building at King’s Lynn and the new facilities in Wisbech: “These developments are an indication of our ambition and commitment to providing the best possible education and training for the areas we serve and those receiving awards this evening are shining examples of the fantastic achievements of CWA students.” The overall 2015 Student of the Year Award went to Level 3 Sport and Exercise Science student, Dayna Kingshott, who has secured a full scholarship to Owens Junior College, Ohio, USA where she will continue her education while playing for the college football (soccer) team. Full list of Student of the Year award winners: Technology: winner – Anthony Reeve; runners-up – Matthew Lawrence and Kestutis Jokubaitis. Creative Arts: Winner – Ema Stonciute; runners-up -  Athy Mruz, Kia Whiley. Foundation Studies: Winner – Christopher Taylor; runners-up  - Sasha Bly and Adam Laws. Sport, Caring & Public Services: Winner – Dayna Kingshott; runners-up  - Chloe Hogermeer-Stevens and Danielle Davies. Business, Humanities & Science: Winner – Abigail Maxwell; runners-up –Antanas Skiudulas & Alex Wyke. Landbased Studies: Winner – Eleanor Eddy; runners-up – Adam Golden & Marianne Knight. Apprenticeships: Winner – Jai Atkinson; runners-up – Deborah Candeias & Jason Munden. Serving the Community: Winner – Jemina Rae; runners-up – Sam Robinson & Early Years Educators (level 3 group) Personal Achievement: Winner – Wayne Griffiths; runners-up – Alice Presnell & James Thorpe.
