CWA Challenge Day!
Students from our King’s Lynn and Wisbech campus have been involved in the annual Challenge day, which this year, also celebrated the official opening of the assault course at the campus on Ramnoth Road, Wisbech.
The CWA Uniformed Services Challenge day takes place every academic year. This year saw attendance from external visitors such as representatives from the RAF and Cambridgeshire Police.
CWA were pleased this year to have the newly appointed Police and Crimes Commissioner for Cambridge attend and say a few words. The uniformed services department also presented a cheque to the Police for £580, which has been raised by learners throughout the academic year over a number of events.
The day also saw the official opening of the assault course at CWA Wisbech. The college spent a significant amount of money on a capital build, installing the assault course in order to bring Wisbech Campus in line with King’s Lynn’s uniformed service department.
The assault course in Wisbech is managed by the public services department but it is a resource for all areas to benefit from. Challenge Day this year saw technology students participate in the Tug of War event along with public Service students.
Lee Mallott, programme manager for Uniformed Services, said: “As always, the challenge day was a great success and it was good to see all the learners competing so competitively. I would also like to publicly thank Cambridgeshire Police, Captain Hughes RLC and 2620 Squadron RAF, for supporting this event.”
