College of West Anglia (CWA) students, alongside Churchill Park Academy students, were awarded certificates to recognise completion of their work experience project with Kick the Dust and Stores of Lynn.
Rachael Williams, Learning and Engagement Officer for Stories of Lynn said:
"This was the most amazing day. I was delighted to have the College students visiting Stories of Lynn with my Churchill Park Museum Ambassadors setting the Escape Room Challenge.
The Norfolk Museums Service Kick the Dust youth project encourages young people to come and learn about how museums work, learning new skills along the way and taking the lead on projects. Most of all we, want them to enjoy themselves whilst they are facing new challenges and growing their confidence. They all certainly did that.
As ever, I am very grateful to all my colleagues and The Mayor and Mayoress for all their support to make this such a success."
Students were given a tour of the museum and an explanation of the different types of jobs available. They also participated in an escape room in the goal cells.
Students were joined by King’s Lynn’s Mayor Harry Humphrey and Mayoress Brenda Humphrey, who awarded the students their certificates.
Gemma Doughty, CWA Foundation Studies lecturer, said: “It was a fantastic experience for or students. They learned about lots of the different job roles at a museum and enjoyed completing the Escape Room challenges, solving clues and working as a team, for which they were awarded certificates by the Mayor. As always, Rachael organised an interactive experience that was both educational and fun.”
