On 21st October 2025, Hair and Beauty students at the College of West Anglia were able to explore future opportunities and careers at an engaging careers fair highlighting the ever evolving hair and beauty industry.

The event brought together a variety of employers and businesses to highlight potential career paths, from salon styling and colour services to media make up, beauty therapy, and freelance work in fashion, film and television. Students had the chance to speak directly with industry professionals and learn how their training at the college connects to real world careers.

Throughout the day, students also discovered more about progression routes available through the College of West Anglia. The interactive sessions allowed them to ask questions, explore new areas of interest, and gain insights into the skills and qualities needed for success in the industry.

'We're really grateful to everyone who came along and supported this year's Hair and Beauty Careers Fair," said Julia Ward, Work Placement Careers Coordinator "It's such a valuable opportunity for our students to meet local employers, discover the range of career paths available to them, and understand how their skills can fit into the ever growing hair and beauty industry.  Events like this not only inspire our learners but also help strengthen links between the college and local businesses, opening doors to future training and employment opportunities."

Charlotte Graves from Ivy Reign said ‘It’s a great opportunity to be here today showcasing the different career pathways available to students while strengthening the connection between college and local businesses. As a community interest company, we’re passionate about supporting local colleges and young people. As well as those who are at risk of becoming NEET or facing exclusion, giving them valuable business and employment experience that helps shape their future.’

Kimberly Campbell, Owner of Curl Devotion said, ‘It’s been a fantastic morning speaking with students about curly hair care and how they can support clients with textured hair. There aren’t many curly hair specialists in Norfolk, so it’s great to inspire and guide the next generation while building stronger links between CWA and local salons.’

Lizzie Whitehouse, Knights Hill Hotel and Spa said ‘I love connecting with students and showing them the exciting career opportunities available after college. It’s important to strengthen relationships between education and industry, and we’re always happy to support work experience placements. Helping the next generation thrive in the ever-evolving beauty and therapy sector is something I’m really passionate about’

The event created a lively and inspiring atmosphere, giving students the confidence to think about their future and the opportunities open to them.
